"Light of knowledge is the light of life” Bearing this in mind hon'ble Shri K. S. Chougule established Dnyanganga Shikshan Pasarak Mandal, Malwadi in 1995. In the beginning, the institution had find it’s way through hardship and struggle how Dyanganga Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Malwadi started Shripatrao Chougule D.Ed. College, Malwadi-Kotoli Tal-Panhala, Dist-Kolhapur (Maharashtra) in -1998.

The College is situated in rural and hilly area which is 27 kms away from the city of Kolhapur. The people of the area are mostly dependent on farming and other occupations related to farming.

The main objective of establishment of this college was to cater to the needs of students coming from the villages. The college has now been knows as a renowned education center, Where Higher Eduction was inaccessible to majority of rural students especially girl student. In the post accreditation period the college has adopted increasingly student centered and need based approach to bring out the unexplored talent of the students.

We established educational institution under the name of Dnyanganga Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Malwadi in 1995. The main objective of the establishment of this college was to cater to the needs of students coming from the village specially girls. The college is situated in rural and hilly area which is 27 kms away from the city of Kolhapur. The place is educationally and economically undeveloped. The people of the area are mostly dependent on farming as a result higher education was not possible for girls. Bearing this in mind we decided to established senior college in this vicinity. In the beginning the institution had to find its way through hardship and struggle. But now the college has been known as renowned educational centre with fullfledged building where all the facilities are accessible to majoring of students.

In the post accreditation period the college has adopted increasingly student centered approach to bring out the unexplored talent of the youth. The Institution believes light of knowledge is the light of life. Our institution is the centre of many educational activities in the area.

Our institution has started Senior College in 1998 & Junior College in 2001. In the year 2003-04 the Madhyamik Vidyalaya was started. At the same time considering the importance of English as Global Language, English Medium School is successfully run by the institution since 2000.
